Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Read is a former lacrosse player who found his true calling in the world of triathlon. After graduating from college, he moved to New York and put his athletic aspirations on hold to work a desk job. However, the onset of Covid-19 brought about a significant change in his life.
Relocating to Tucson, Read began running daily to stay active during the lockdown. His newfound passion for running led him to seek a coach who could help him hone his skills. As fate would have it, his coach was a pro triathlete who inspired him to train for a 70.3 instead of a half marathon.
Read completed his first half-distance race at Challenge Daytona in 2020, and he was instantly hooked. The thrill of the race and the discipline of training ignited a spark in him, and he decided to see how far he could push his limits in the sport.
"Great to see some progress and excited for what’s to come"
Fast forward to today, Read is all set to embark on his professional triathlon career. 🏁
